Online chess coach
Online chess coaching from Spain, with private lessons in English
We're Miguel, Jorge and Belén Miranda, three siblings from Zaragoza rated over 2100 FIDE. We teach online chess to children and adults, from beginner to 1800 FIDE: small group classes in Spanish at your level, with a coach who analyses your games, and private lessons in Spanish or English.
Beginner to 1800 FIDE · from €40/month · no commitment
What does an online chess coach do?
A good coach doesn't just send you videos: they look at their students' games, find the mistakes that keep coming back and give you a plan to fix them. In every class we share a Lichess board and talk over Zoom with the whole group, as if we were sitting at the same table. Between classes you have daily tasks in our app and you can message us your questions.
Why train with active players
All three of us still play FIDE tournaments: international opens and the Spanish Championship. The openings we teach are the ones we play ourselves, and we know what it feels like to be short on time in the last round. And all three of us have gained hundreds of rating points in just a few years, so we know the road ahead of you.
How to choose a chess coach
Before you hire anyone, check four things:
- That they play clearly stronger than you: their FIDE profile is public.
- That they work with your games, not generic ones.
- That they have experience with students of your age and level.
- That they put you in a group at your real level, not a generic one.
Groups in Spanish, private lessons in English
Our group classes are taught in Spanish: a great fit if you speak it or are learning it. If you'd rather train in English, book private lessons: one-to-one with your coach, at €15/hour, subject to availability.
How much does an online chess coach cost?
Our group classes cost €40/month for 1 h a week up to 1400, or €50/month for 1.5 h a week from 1400 to 1800, paid month by month with no commitment. They include the app with daily tasks. If you want to work on something specific, private lessons cost €15/hour, subject to availability.

Are the classes in groups?
Yes. They're group classes in small groups by level, from beginner to 1800 FIDE, taught in Spanish. If you also want an hour one-to-one with your coach, in Spanish or English, we offer private lessons at €15/hour, subject to availability and with priority for group students.
Do I need a FIDE rating?
No. The groups go from unrated beginners up to 1800 FIDE.
Can I train from outside Spain?
Yes. The classes are online, so you can join from any country; we just need to fit the schedule to Spanish time (CET).
What do I need for the class?
A computer or tablet with a camera and an internet connection. We use Zoom to talk and a shared Lichess board, which is free.
